A Course Catalog for

Writers Notes Book Awards

"Perhaps no group does a better job satirizing academia than its very own professors, but Farrell & Morrow give them more than a good run with their flat-out funny course catalog for the University of the Psychogenic Fugue. While the admission application provides tick marks for preschool and cheerleading camp, UPF also gives credit for a host of hilarious disciplines such as Glamour, Suburban Science, and Ethics. My favorite course in the English Department might be "Free It's Not" - teaching aspiring copywriters how to offer a "free gift" that actually carries a price to obtain. Regrettably, some of the recently cancelled courses include Publicity Stuntman, Gayonics, and Remedial Irony."

" Anyone who has attended college or looked at a college catalog will laugh out loud as they browse through the course catalog for the "University of Psychogenic Fugue". A totally fictitious university, the satirical catalog includes a history of the college, course listings and descriptions, clubs, awards, crime statistics, admissions information and everything else that you would expect in a real college catalog."

"Wonderful satire! This is not only hysterically funny, but in a dark way, somewhat truthful too. The book is beautifully laid out, and easy to follow. It covers such a wide range of topics, I am totally impressed at the work that went into creating this stroke of genius. A fine example of brilliant humor."

"An entertaining promotional website for a book that parodies an American college. Be sure to click on "Know More About It." It just may inspire you to buy the book. "
