What former Students are saying about . . .

"UPF taught me more about life than any of those books by that one guy with the funny name who is always getting thanked by celebrities. Get it and learn yourself something"
--Michael J. Nelson,
--Writer/Host MST3K,
--Author of Movie Megacheese

"Dear Mom and Dad: My first day of college was great. I had anticipated the beginning of my tenure at UPF for months ahead, my course catalogue satiating my hunger for higher learning."
--NOHO>LA, Art, Music, Film, Theatre,
--Literature and Style for Los Angeles

"Stylistically, "University of Psychogenic Fugue" is perhaps most similar to the written comic delivery of Dave Barry, with the same prediliction for over-the-top exaggerations of cultural products and codes of conduct, and a similar gift for painting the social insanity lying within everyday social inanity. Or think a book-length version of a special college issue of "The Onion," with about the same consistency and integrity of laugh-out loud scenarios, and the occasional Joke That Really Makes You Think placed here and there throughout for liability purposes." "Think of the University of Psychogenic Fugue as your own alma mater -- if Ken Kesey had been your dean and Abbie Hoffman your adviser."

"Before selling your soul to the government for student financial aid, pick up the new University of Psychogenic Fugue: A Course Catalog for Students of Life by Tye R . Farrell and Jeffrey Morrow."

"Still, despite the disillusionment with Carnegie Mellon that will inevitably arise as a result, the website is well worth a few moments of idle attention. Check it out while you're toiling away at the dull light of your monitor, writing reports, and doing research for your own classes, which, lamentably, do not include "Any Day Can Be A Fun Day." "Farrell and Morrow are alarmingly correct in their hilarious analyses, especially from the commonly cynical point of view of college students." Read Full Review....]

"The UPF catalog pokes fun at the degree of pop culture saturation in college life, from the perspective of authors who obviously understand all too well the frustrations faced by students in the profit-driven college structure. Reading this manual just might make you exchange a knowing, apathetic glance with another eternally indebted undergrad, while you both try to eke out one more sentence in your half-assed research papers."
--The Weekender, Northern Illinois University

"So, if you, as a professional student, were ever burned by Financial Aid, thought Student Life was shady or complained that Admissions was biased, then read "Psychogenic Fugue." Read Full Review....]

"If you are reading my review then you're probably looking for that final kick in the pants to convince you to add this lovely piece to your cart. Don't think TWICE! I am telling you, whomever YOU are, that UPF is the the purest form of hilarity. When was the last time that you read something that made your guts bust wide open (in the pleasant-est of ways)? However, this book is not only a catalyst for giggly to gut-popping laughter, it's a conversation piece. Reading this book on the bus, on a park bench, at work...people start asking you questions..."Are you thinking about going back to school?" Ah, yeah. Since UPF is right down the street, it won't be a bad commute. With humor, the authors address the current state of affairs of the education system and culture, be it pop or otherwise -- and what we, the reading, laughing, thinking audience get from these 240+ pages is beautiful, hilarity. Oh, and i think laughing a lot does great things for your abs! I learned that at UPF!"

"If you're looking for a gift for a recent graduate - this is the book! It's a zesty look at life. If it doesn't offend you to the point of laughter then you haven't given it proper attention. I personally feel qualified to teach GL 206."

"People on the bus were staring at me, I was laughing so hard."

"Across the board everyone I show it to thinks it's absolutely hilarious. I keep it with me at all times since it arrived; both at work and at rehearsals. I had so much fun reading it."

"It's brilliant. I love this thing. It's perfect. God bless you."

"The University of Psychogenic Fugue is the blockbuster college catalog of the year!"

"I used to think that college degrees were worthless. That was until I enrolled in courses at the University of Psychogenic Fugue. Thank you. I'm still unemployed, but I feel great."

"The University of Psychogenic Fugue holds a mirror up to the world and screams - Look how ugly you are!"

"I couldn't even read it - I had to put it down to howl. It's deep, but not too deep. Timely, but not limited to time. It's really funny. No, wait, it's kinda sad. Sad because it's true. It touched my heart and made me weepy."

"This wry parody of a college catalog advertises that it's for "students of life" but it's especially for those who have earned an A+ in Satire 101. It deserves a place on the Dean's List of Pop Culture. Its incisive, insightful tidbits are reminiscent of the old "National Lampoon" with the tang of "The Onion" thrown in for flavor. The course titles alone are worth the price of the book! Every detail of the layout mimics those cheesy handbooks (except the paper is much better quality) but the real bite is in the writing. It mocks the socks off academia and contemporary culture without being overly bitter. My favorite entry is "THE ETHICS FEE: Students who are pursuing a degree in the Ethics Department and are willing to pay double the regular tuition price for their course load will not have to actually participate in classes -- -we'll just give you the credits..." Ah, the irony. I also love the photos, which range from dorky to deep. I think every high school guidance office should have a copy of this book to prepare college-bound kids for the hilarious, absurd truth!"

"It's a riot. I only read bits and pieces; to try to read it from front to back would be like drinking four beers in a row. I think I want to take the prostitution course."

"A person could die from this much laughter."

"Now I know why the Japanese are beating us. Thanks, University of Psychogenic Fugue."

"Michael and I lay in bed reading aloud to each other and laughing until we made tears and our guts hurt! I just wanted to tell you what a delight it is - smart, biting, insightful, sad, and terribly, terribly funny!"

"Today, I finished reading the University of Psychogenic Fugue. It has improved the quality of my life greatly. Not only making me laugh, but making me think about just how messed up our society is. Thanks."

"An engaging, humorous, and fast-moving read....Farrell and Morrow waste no time before slicing open middle-class academic life....An affectionate sort of sarcasm flavors their treatment of both its foibles...and its virtues. I found this hard-to-put-down book wise, revealing, and very funny. I can finally finish my degree at UPF and only have to go into a minor amount of debt this time around."

"The University of Psychogenic Fugue is a non-stop thrill ride of excitement that had me asking for more."

"Extremely funny, not at all like the past 10 seasons of 'Saturday Night Live.' "

"The University of Psychogenic Fugue reads like my life. It's like it was written about me. Nice job. Don't forget me when the enrollment checks start coming in."

I have never written a review on here before, but felt like I had to let people know how funny this book is. It really is funny on so many levels. It has become a cult favorite at my college. I think I'd go further in life if I could take some of these classes. The authors are so on the mark. I'm going to buy the diploma with the magnet on the back off their web site. I'll tell my parents that it's worth as much as the other one!"

"It's so wonderful, so funny. It's witty and dark and fun. "

"Before attending the University of Psychogenic Fugue, I was a cult member. Now I've learned that giving all my money to the Office of Financial Aid will make me feel like a complete person. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

"Though what you probably want is to be lathered with praise, I'm not going to do that, not because it's undeserving but because it's a talent I simply lack. All the courses are perfectly funny and appropriate to their majors."

"The most comprehensive womp against society, ever!"
